TRANSCROSSING THE ELLSWORTH MOUNTAINS, ASCENT OF THE HIGHEST PEAK, MOUNT VINSON

The ascent of Mount Vinson itself turned out to be relatively easy, especially because of the good weather we enjoyed that time. My companions were experienced climbers and a reliable group of friends – Leszek Cichy, Anna Czerwińska, Kuba Jakubczyk, Jacek Jezierski, Janusz Majer and Wojciech Ostrowski. It was interesting to learn climbing from Leszek and Janusz and then climb the peak together with other climbers. It was good to be going back along the ridge and then, in the camp, to play a game of chess with Leszek and plan next expeditions – the ascent of Kilimanjaro in Tanzania and Mount Kościuszko in Australia.
